Red Tide

Okay, I know the image quality is less than noteworthy, but I wanted to share anyways.
I took the kids out on a late night beach run to catch 'Red Tide.'
During the day the water is filled with microscopic plankton, brownish-red and kind of murky, but at night...

It's like millions of glow sticks in the ocean.
It's a natural phenomena caused by a chemical reaction in the plankton, bioluminescence.  Kinda like fireflies.
The kids thought it was GREAT! One of those things lots of people only read about, never get to experience.
Love being spoiled growing up in So. Cal.
